manufacturing for the future
First Article & Prototyping
First Article Manufacturing (FAM), First Article Testing (FAT) and First Article Inspection (FAI), are the processes of producing the first completed example of a design to verify that it meets specifications and is ready for production. First article inspection is often used to ensure the first article manufactured meets quality standards, but it can also be used to ensure compliance with other requirements such as regulatory approvals.
In many cases, an item's design may meet all requirements, but there is no way to know for sure until the first manufactured item is complete. The first article is inspected and tested in a variety of ways to confirm that it meets all design specifications, check for any defects or malfunctions, and provide feedback on how to improve the design for future products.
Support Equipment & Tooling
Support equipment refers to all equipment necessary for the operation of an aeronautical system, a system command and control system, a support system, a subsystem, or an item of equipment on the ground. In particular, SE is a type of equipment covered by the Aviation Maintenance and Material Readiness List (AMMRL).
AVIOSS manufactures Support Equipment from common (CSE) to peculiar (PSE) for various DOD programs. Either through technical data packages (TDP) drawings, or working alongside The Department of Defense (DOD) engineers to design and create specific tools for specific uses. Offering variance suggestions to meet and or exceed end users' needs while remaining competitive and effective in cost, lead time, and material readiness.

What is Reverse Engineering?
In mechanical engineering, reverse engineering (RE) is the process of working through the design process in the opposite direction to arrive at the product design specification. A common start to this process is the use of 3D scanning technology.
Why Reverse Engineering?
One reason is to recreate components that were designed and manufactured decades ago that have no 2D drawings or 3D CAD from which to reproduce the end product. There may also be situations where the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) lost design measurements, and or company is no longer in business but the product is still in use. Lastly using reverse engineering to improve design through development and analyses.
